I believe in truth and fiscal responsibility.
Republican doublespeak on tax reform is beyond belief.
They claim their tax cuts will improve the economy creating more and better jobs. Huh? Don’t we have record low unemployment and rising wages right now?
They claim the national debt and big deficits are a crisis that will destroy our country – that only they have the fiscal management skill to correct. The federal deficit was up 39% in October 2017 over October 2016. Their proposed “tax reform” is projected to dramatically increase deficits! How is that showing prudent fiscal management skill?
They claim taxes are unfair and cite statistics like the top 1% pay 90% of income taxes and about 1/3 of Americans, 78 million families, pay no income taxes. Now they promise tax-savings for the 99% and lower 1/3 of wage earners. How do you cut taxes for those already paying little or no taxes?
Our country has dangerously high income and wealth disparity that threatens both civil society and economic stability. Republicans are exploiting this “real” crisis to further a political agenda that will exacerbate wealth and income disparity.
Republican’s use of doublespeak to promote a tax-reform scam is deplorable.
Good honest hardworking people deserve good honest representation.
